Volunteer with Us
Volunteering at the Northfield Township Food Pantry is a great way to get involved and help us fight food insecurity in our community! Volunteer duties include sorting food donations, stocking shelves, assisting clients, and helping clean and sanitize Pantry spaces. The Food Pantry is open Monday-Friday. Volunteer shifts are two hours long and are scheduled at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
If you are new and interested in volunteering, please contact Food Pantry Coordinator Julie Schaeffer at julies@northfieldtownship.com or 847-724-8300 ext. 105 to schedule your first training shift.
If you are in need of community service hours also please contact our Food Pantry Coordinator. The individual requiring the community service hours must be the person who calls or emails to make arrangements.
Established volunteers who have completed two training shifts can use the link below to sign up for any available shifts.
Donation Drop-Off Info
Food donations can be dropped off during the Food Pantry’s operating hours (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am–4:30pm, and Thursday from 8:30am–7:00pm). Donors may bring items through the front entrance, but for larger donations, please pull around to the north side of the building and use the grey double doors. Ring the doorbell and let staff know you have a donation—our team will come out to assist you. If you need help bringing items inside, please don’t hesitate to call us at 847-724-8300.
When the Food Pantry is closed, non-perishable food donations may be placed in the collection bins also located on the north side of the building. Please only use these collection bins when the Food Pantry is not open.
