Accessibility Parking

The Township can issue three-month temporary parking placards, once an application form is filled out by a physician. We also have applications for permanent parking placards which are issued by the Secretary of State’s office.

Voter Registration

Northfield Township provides voters’ registration services; appointments are not necessary.

To register to vote, you must be:

  1. A U.S. citizen
  2. At least 18 years old by Election Day
  3. A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day

You also must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address.

Acceptable forms of ID include:
  • Illinois driver’s license
  • Illinois State ID
  • Employee or student ID
  • Credit card
  • Social Security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Utility bill in applicant’s name
  • Mail postmarked to the applicant
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Public Aid ID card
  • Lease or rental contract

October 6: Last day to submit paper voter registration forms (online and in-person registration remain available after this date)
October 7: Same-Day Voter Registration opens at downtown Supersite (137 S State St., Chicago) and Board of Elections Office (69 W Washington, Chicago)
October 18: Last day for online voter registration (in-person registration is available through Election Day)
October 19: Early Voting & Same-Day Registration opens across Cook County; the Village of Northbrook and Village of Glenview have early voting open every day through November 2
October 29: Last day to apply for a Vote By Mail ballot
November 3: General Election Day (6 am–7 pm); be sure to vote at your assigned polling place!

Notary Service

The staff at Northfield Township office is available to notarize certain documents free of charge during regular business hours.  No appointment is necessary.  Just be sure to bring valid photo identification along with the unsigned documents.  Please ensure that there is an attestation on any documents being notarized.

Documents that cannot be notarized at the Northfield Township office include real estate transactions and wills. 

Coast2Coast Prescription Discount Card

The Coast2Coast discount prescription drug card will provides Northfield Township residents with Rx medication savings of up to 80% at thousands of pharmacies across the country including CVS, Walmart, Kroger, Walgreens, Albertsons and their affiliates. The card is pre-activated and can be used immediately.
