General and Emergency Assistance

Both general and emergency financial assistance are administered according to guidelines adopted by Northfield Township and the State of Illinois. If you need assistance or to see if you qualify, please call:

Energy & Water Bill Assistance

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is a federally funded program that provides support to low-income households for utility bill payments. LIHEAP Direct Vendor Payment, is a one-time benefit payment to the utility companies.

Residents can apply for LIHEAP assistance by making an appointment. Appointments are available in-person at our office or remotely over the phone. Please call 847-724-8300 for further details and requirements.

Access to Healthcare

Access to Care is a medical assistance program in Cook County that provides health care services to low income, uninsured individuals who are not eligible for Medicare or Public Aid. Dial-a-Ride is a program that provides discount coupons to Northfield Township residents with permanent disabilities (age 18 and over) and income-eligible senior citizens (age 65 and over) for use with participating taxicab companies.
