It’s that time of year again…time for the 7th Annual Eileen Hoekstra Birthday Fundraiser!
Eileen loved celebrating her birthday. We often joked that it was less of a birthday and more of a birthday week… or even a birthday month! In honor of what would have been her 60th birthday on September 7th, we are once again raising money for her favorite charity, the Northfield Township Food Pantry.
During the last few years of her life, Eileen volunteered at the Food Pantry and spent many years serving in the OLPH Sharing Room. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need are the qualities we, as her family, are proud to honor each year. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating her legacy by supporting families experiencing food insecurity.
Last year, because of the incredible generosity of this community, we reached an amazing milestone, over $100,000 raised for the Northfield Township Food Pantry in just six years! We are beyond grateful to every person who has donated, shared our fundraiser, and helped keep Eileen’s spirit of giving alive.
This year, our goal is to raise $15,000, bringing our total to more than $115,000 donated to the Food Pantry. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide meals and hope to neighbors in our community.

About the Northfield Township Food Pantry
The Northfield Township Food Pantry was started over 50 years ago to assist Township residents who are unable to provide enough food for themselves and their families. In April 2003, the Pantry became a 501c3 organization and an agency of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Today, many hundreds of Township families are eligible to visit the Pantry to receive perishable and non-perishable food items and grocery store cards.
No tax dollars are used to supply the Pantry. The Pantry is sustained entirely by residents, civic organizations, schools, businesses and the faith community who generously donate food items, grocery store cards and cash.
