Accessibility Parking

The Township can issue three-month temporary parking placards, once an application form is filled out by a physician. We also have applications for permanent parking placards which are issued by the Secretary of State’s office.

Voter Registration

Northfield Township provides voters’ registration services; appointments are not necessary.

To register to vote, you must be:

  1. A U.S. citizen
  2. At least 18 years old by Election Day
  3. A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day

You also must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address.

Acceptable forms of ID include:
  • Illinois driver’s license
  • Illinois State ID
  • Employee or student ID
  • Credit card
  • Social Security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Utility bill in applicant’s name
  • Mail postmarked to the applicant
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Public Aid ID card
  • Lease or rental contract

March 17 Primary Election is Right Around the Corner!

The March 17 primary election will include candidates for Federal, State, County and other local races.

This year, the ballot includes both Senate and House of Representatives seats in Congress as well as statewide races covering Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller, Treasurer and more. In Cook County, elections for Board President, Assessor, Clerk, Sheriff, and Treasurer will also be on the ballot.

Notary Service

The staff at Northfield Township office is available to notarize certain documents free of charge during regular business hours.  No appointment is necessary.  Just be sure to bring valid photo identification along with the unsigned documents.  Please ensure that there is an attestation on any documents being notarized.

Documents that cannot be notarized at the Northfield Township office include real estate transactions and wills.
