Property Tax Bills Delayed and Additional Assessor Updates

Second Installment Property Tax Bills Delayed:

Second installment 2022 property tax bills (payable 2023) are delayed. These bills are expected to be available to property owners by November 1, 2023 with a due date of December 1, 2023.

Property tax bills are mailed twice a year in two installments. According to Cook County property tax officials: “The COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with a critical overhaul of the technological backbone of the system, has had a dramatic impact on the County’s property tax processes and timelines.”

August 4 th Application Deadline for 2022 Property Tax Exemptions:

Exemptions are property tax savings that contribute to lowering a homeowner’s property tax bill. The savings from exemptions are shown on your second installment property tax bill. Cook County Board of Review (BOR) 2022 Property Tax Appeal:

Property Tax Appeals that residents may have filed with the Cook County Board of Review (BOR) earlier this year as result of your property reassessment are pending review. Residents should receive a result letter by the end of August.

Your property 2022 assessed value along with exemptions, help determine your share of property taxes owed this year.
